The first aniblog tourney had 96 blogs competing.
The second aniblog tourney had 159 blogs competing.
From the 96 blogs that competed in the first tourney, 55 competed in the second tourney. Out of the 41 blogs who didn’t compete the second time, 2 of them were still updating and just chose to not take part. From the remaining 39, only 4 of them were blogs who made it to the Final 32. That means that 28 of the blogs who made it to the last 32 were still updating 2 years later when the next tourney rolled around. 88% of the blogs that made it to the final 32 in the first tourney kept updating, while only 46% of the blogs that didn’t make it to the Final 32 kept updating.
3 of the blogs that made it to the quarter finals in the first tourney didn’t win a single match in the second, and even then 2 of them only just progressed through their group matches and lost the next round. This is only partly down to the some of the blogs deteriorating. Some of this has to do with blogs in question not promoting for the second tourney. Overall, 12 out out of the blogs that made it to the final 32 in the first tourney made it to the same stage in the second tourney.
My maths are probably all over the place. Here’s the excel spreadsheet, figure it out yourself.
